After studying anatomy, perspective, and color theory, she returns to the spontaneity of her childhood. She loves animals for their spirit and form. She has spent over twenty years observing animals while working with them. She has a great appreciation for African Art, The Fauvists, and The Blue Rider. Matisse, Marc, Kandynsky, Macke, and Klee are among some of her favorite artists. Patterning and bright color are key elements in her paintings. Alex makes her picture frames and paints the frame along with the composition.Alex resides in Durham with her husband and four rescued animals. She volunteers with Piedmont Wildlife Center caring for injured animals. Alex O'Connor · alexoart@verizon.net |
